For married women, do you remember the thrill you felt when you got engaged? When your man popped that question “Will you marry me?” it made you want to walk on the clouds, didn’t it? The preparation for the big day is kind of overwhelming but exciting at the same time… the wedding gowns shopping, venue planning, the ring, and all those tiny little details that would make the wedding day extra special and a truly unforgettable one.

A wedding is one event that makes me feels nostalgic every time. Looking at two lovely people in love never fail to amaze me!

Fibromyalgia Pillow

Ever heard of Fibromyalgia? It is a disorder characterized by pain due to fatigue, anxiety, depression and restless sleep. Its cause is unknown and is said to more likely affect women.

Last week my sister and her family came over to celebrate an occasion with us. It was kind of a huge event that necessitates them to stay for the night. But since she is pregnant, she needed a place that separates her from the crowd and the buzzes they’re making that time so I offered her my room. I tried to help her get utmost rest she needed but to my surprise none of what I did helped. She felt restless all night and couldn’t sleep.

Prior to that I already have read about Fibromyalgia… Of course I didn’t think it was her condition. Somehow I know how it is like being pregnant but how I wish I have that fibromyalgia pillow thing. I’ve heard it is chiropractors and medical doctors’ recommended and it does not only help people having fibromyalgia disorder but also help soothe those who have other sleeping issues like heavy snoring, insomnia, and even those who are suffering from migraine like me as well as allergies and asthma. See how useful it is? But then such pillow is never available in any stores so I guess really have to save for one... or maybe two!

When the Wrath of Nature Strikes

We will never really know when tragedy strikes. I was talking to a friend this morning via Facebook chat and was startled to have found out that they're one of those thousands of people who have tried to survive when flash flood hit the neighboring city last week. That incident was all over the local and national news all through-out the week.

I've seen some photos she uploaded on the site that are really so disheartening to look at - pictures of different puzzled faces of people who doesn't seemed to know where to go, pictures of poor innocent children who doesn't seem to understand what was going on to their place and that of their deluged house and almost all of their belongings.

But on the lighter side, it is nice to know that the government of the said city was too quick to respond and assisted them with their urgent needs while other agencies and even some private lending institution offered financial remedies in a form of fast or instant cash loan to the victims. Thumbs up to all these kind-hearted people! They are what we truly need in times of crisis like this.

I had a bad dream last night that woke me earlier than I used to. On my feet and in the bathroom! I rarely stop and stare at myself in the mirror in the wee hours of the morning just to notice how my hair have grown. I must admit I give very poor attention towards my hair. I’m even too lazy to brush them regularly. Now isn’t that a shame?

The first and the last time I cut my hair so short was when I was like 16 or 17 and promised never to cut it beyond shoulder length again. Not like I’m good at taking care of it… I just simply want to keep it long even if all I do is to tie if not clasp them up all day long. If I need to look better than while staying at home there’s always a handy hair straightener to save my day. It’s no ghd straightener but it works just as fine. Looking to try for one though!

Somehow men are right. Women are expensive. That’s right. But I’ve been trying to be less and thanks God for the gift of wisdom. I was able to learn some of those DIY (do-it-yourself) woman’s fancy tasks because truth is, I really don’t have a man to pay it all for me when I need them. (Wink!)

Summer oh summer... soon you are about to end... LOL! Hello ladies! Counting myself in here again!

We (my family) don't usually make specific plans on how we should celebrate summer. Though treating ourselves, especially the little ones with ice cream, fruits shakes or anything cold has already been a practice.

There they are having their ice cream while playing one of their favorite activities this year - scrabbling - but of course that's next to playing PC games. :D

Also this year, the grandma is too diligent to administer advance study for each of them. I'm glad! They get to enjoy while learning at the same time... and that my sisters and I don't have to pay summer fees for everything they've learned. How's that for a savings? LOL!

By the way, I had to use the laptop's camera because my poor digicam's charger stopped working for me. It has been a while and it's making me sad I had to miss events at some point. :(

But all in all it's one fun, great summer 2011 for us.

Love, romantic, sweet, mellow songs or tunes - however you wanna call it, I sure know lots of it.

My fascination to classic oldies started way way back when I was still a teen... there's this one popular radio station that my late Papa only listens to and only at certain hours of each Sunday that only plays classic love songs from the 70's and 80's. Being in the same roof I couldn't help but to listen too till I get accustomed to them. They're all easy to the ears so unlike others I don't have to write down the lyrics of each and memorize. I simply sing along as the music go till I can fully grasp the whole of it.

My love to music has leveled up over the years. I've come to learn how to play a guitar and this song entitled "SONG FOR YOU" by CHICAGO was the subject of my very first guitar playing attempt.

Nothing was really so special about this song. But when I first heard my brother playing it on a guitar, there's this something I can't explain that suddenly draws me in to it. Was it a spell? No one really knows. I asked how its chords like then he handed me the guitar and allowed me to explore it myself.

No, the song doesn't really make me cry. But it sure reminds me every time how much I am being loved and cared for by the man who is all up to conquering the world for me, LOL. Up until now I still have this song in my play list along with bunch of others including the songs I've learned during my dad's time.

Hahahaha!I had our host's page open to check what's for this week's GT theme and I was getting my page ready for a post when this song "crazy frog" pops out on the air in full volume and I was like... Aww! What is that? Where did that come from?

JK was on too. We usually talk on Skype pretty much everyday and I know he loves playing music too so I thought it was him. Usually I just turn the volume down whenever he plays a song and I don't feel like listening to it so I did yet the loud music continues. Only then I realized that it came from the GT post, waahhahahaha! Pardon me to agree with you, sis but yea I find that song really annoying too.

Another music genre that I (not hate) but would rather not listen to is the heavy/rap metal. My brother is into some of them and thanks God I don't share a living room with him, LOL! Some of the songs have good beats though but what's so irritating is when I can't even grasp some good lyrics other than swears and mean words just like this one from SLAPSHOCK. Can't even utter its title but it's again another famous swear, LOL!

GT... GT... GT... GT... why am I always missing you?

I swear I have read GT's theme for the month back from our host's page and promised not to miss any of it but now I realized I just missed the last week again, arghhhh.... now that made me contemplate 'where was I on the 3rd?' I really don't know the answer but anyway, there's no sense of crying over spilled milk so let me just head on...

So from the stupidest to the most courageous act we've done for love - or rather for fun (but still with the one you love) if am allowed to make a bit of revisions here, LOL!

The place on the picture is called Bamboo Garden Resort and it's a 30 minutes or so drive away from our home. We dared to go up there during JK's first visit here in my hometown last year. The resort itself is a beautiful place to spend time with and JK especially indeed had so much fun capturing the nature and enjoying the company of the family at the same time.

But the biggest downside of the story was... the place is the home of rebels - obviously not a safe place for foreigners like JK to go to, huh. But my cousin offered his car so that somehow cut my worries down. The whole time we were there I was stealthily praying for nothing wrong to happen till we can safely leave the place and I really thank God for granting my requests for that day. If not, I would have been the most regretful person alive on earth today.

Hi! It's nice to be back here. It's exactly been 74 days since my last update and now the counting has to stop.

And so to start it back off, let me make you drool for a bit here with my MYM entry for the week.

One of the tasty meals we (JK and I) have had back at Hof Gorei Resort. It's called Fettuccini Gregorio. Flat noodles in cream sauce and prawns --- a true Italian taste at a very affordable cost of $5.50/ serving.

For me, it's always an alcohol! Needless to explain its importance! Shampoo and conditioners of course are just as important to me too but I always make sure to keep those in big bottles so they could last me for at least a month.

I'm really not big on cosmetics and other beauty products. I don't even wear face powder on ordinary days. Not that I don't have any but I really don't feel like using them when I don't need to. But show me where nail polishes are and I will surely be right there and then. Unfortunately, I don't think I have any uploaded pictures of my nail polish collection that I can pull out from my hard drive other than this (it's blurry, sorry) and in which I actually didn't buy myself, hehe. They are gifts!

The Crocodile Park was one of the many places that JK and I didn't miss visiting while in Davao last month.

This so fabulously colored specie on the picture is sure no croc but it is peacefully dwelling in exactly the same place along with other different critters at the park... birds, sea and jungle creatures to name a few.

First off, I'd like to agree to our host... I think no one in this world who doesn't own a piece or a pair of something black in his life.

When I was in college, I was once asked why do I love the color black. And my not so stupid answer was; "because I see clarity in black". Actually that answer still makes me wonder until now. Do I even make sense at all? LOL!

But seriously, I define black as elegant. Not to mention how black clothing do tricks with plus size figures and spare them a little from insecurities, embarrassment or however they may call it. Trust me, I have tried it myself... not because I am a plus size but because I wanted to sport my shape and make it more noticeable, hahaha, illusionada! But that was before.

Oh well anyway, I been talking about clothes when all I really have to feature for this week's theme are these two... soon-to-be in my possession gadgets. I hope this one works. Again, they're not in my hands yet but they're sure mine. Instead of shipping, JK preferred to carry both along since he is coming anyway... and that is real SOON.

I have blogged about this before and will still do blog about it each time I get the chance... that is, if I am to choose a costume to wear for a certain Halloween Party I would definitely pick this one!

I forgot! Really I did... that it's Thursday and that GT is on, sheesh! Oh well, I roughly have four hours left before this week's Thursday is over so I'd better get this entry posted before anything else will get in the way.

I got these two nice purple clothes (L: a women's jersey sleep wear R: lacey top) from the _th box that JK sent me early this year. The sleep wear has become my favorite since, but then of course I wanted it to stay longer in my closet so I don't have to wash and wear it time and again. It's a gift from a very dear person to me... therefore it is special and I love it big time.

The lacey top on the other hand is simply nothing but gorgeous!

Also along with these purple clothes are some purple signature items from BBW. Just don't bother yourself too much on the yellows below. They're simply just part of the pic, lol!

So anyway, for purple ones, I got Black Raspberry Vanilla, shower gel, perfume, hand and body lotion and they all smell oh so good... Just right and easy to my sensitive nostrils.

It's the first Thursday of September and this time around here at GT, we girls are bound to talk about colors... hmm, sounds fun and looks like I'd be enjoying the entire month digging both old and new pictures to share for each week.

So to start off, I am sporting here the only red bag I own since RED is the color of the week.

It's a three - compartment hand bag! Would you believe I was inside the plane when (out of nothing) I happened to take a picture of this bag that was rested on my lap? I had it for a carry on when I went to Manila for my US Embassy appointment some time in April last year.

I'm not really so fond with anything RED but this bag made a difference. It looks simple yet elegant to me. Plus it carries all my personal stuffs even including a pair of extra shirt and that's what I heart most about it.

Point blank, I couldn't imagine myself watching a movie with an enemy alone. To me it simply makes no sense unless it's a dare I can't say NO to, hahaha!

But say a movie marathon on a weekend at home with family (and perhaps even with uninvited neighbors including my enemy watching along through the windows), why not? I will suggest Rob Schmidt's Wrong Turn. And yes, maybe I can invite them in. Would it not sound so cruel of me if I don't?

I sure can stand with eerie and dreadful movies so if they can't they are free to leave. Ha-ha-ha, now that's real simple with no words said.

But don't take me wrong, I am just a brat and can sometimes be all crabby. I may have an attitude but I don't think I have someone I can consider an enemy for life. PEACE!

One time my friend Bebie, my niece MJ and I were chanced to sail with foreign divers towards their diving destination in Panagsama Beach, Cebu. Oh, I didn't dive. I chicken out when Jong, the shop's diving instructor offered me free lessons before but I at least got the chance to watch on site diving activities done by professional foreign divers and that's how I got these pictures; :D

Wow, whatta theme for a start! Has it been a decade? Hahaha!

Okay, seriously though, it has been years since I last had a treat at movie theater/cinemas. More so now that I live away from the city, the only chance I get to watch a movie is when I feel really, really, really off from blogging and anything that has to do with the online world. If I remember it right the last one I have watched on a DVD was the eerie and somewhat yucky movie, SLITHER. But that's not of course recommendable for girlfriends.

It may sound a bit old but I can only think of this movie so far since I really have no idea what's on the latest these days. HAHA! Funny, how I've seems to live backward since I moved in to my new place.

So this is the last theme for the month! LOL! Do I feel relieved? But of course before that, let me unpack here first my entry for this week's theme. Well, my family thinks I'm a fighter basically because they see me as woman of determination. "What Nancy wants, Nancy gets". I remember Mama said this line in front of our Assumption Group when she was asked to give me a birthday message some years ago.

In a way, that's true but behind that character also rest the demonstrative side of me when it comes to my feelings. In fact, I do cry way much more than my family is even aware of. I like eating out with friends. I like exploring new restaurants (not the fancy ones though), food chains and even barbecue houses. That's one thing I miss about having a city life. But I can be meticulous as well not much on the presentation but when it comes to food preparation especially.

It's because whether you agree or not there are really owners who care less in observing a clean and tidy workplace in their restaurant. I actually see a couple my self. But the worst one was that at a barbecue house my friends and I once visited. When dining in a barbecue house it has been a common practice to us Filipinos to ask for the washing area while waiting for our food to be served since barbecues are best eaten with bare clean hands.

On my way to the washing area was where I exactly notice such a disgusting kitchen they have. Wastes and garbage are everywhere and I'm sure flies and other insects too. So disappointing that I hurriedly walk back and told my friends to just move to the next house even if necessitates us to cancel all our orders. It wasn't meant to spoil the night but that should at least prevent them from going back to that place again.

This picture caught my attention as I was sorting out files and pictures earlier to give my hard drive more space.

Mama and I were attending the rooster mass on its first day last year (2009) and while walking on our way back, I was chanced to take this picture of our old rented house.

Yes, in this roughly more than 30-year old wooden house is where we (me and my siblings) all grew up. A lot of worth-remembering memories were made in this house from childhood to adulthood. Simple living as you can imagine. If I may say even pet dogs on their dog pedic beds are luckier than us. We're not used to sleep on soft beds at night but on a matted hard wooden floor. We got no house help. Each one of us has assigned tasks to do on a daily basis.

Looking back from where I am right now, I realized how hard our life was back then but then we were still thankful we have a safe place to return to at the end of each day. As far as I can imagine, none of what we went through give any of us a reason to complain, instead that challenging stage of our lives helped us to become good persons of value that we all are now.

This is it, finally... my first entry for the month! But first off and before I brag about myself I'd like to congratulate first (though this may late) Kaye for hosting the new Girls Talk. I've learned about it after reading entries from last month in which I wasn't able to join in for some reasons. But now I'm back and this is really it.

So... what do I love about myself mentally? This has got me really thinking. I thought the last theme was the toughest for the month, I was wrong. Somebody will raise some violent reactions for sure if I say something I can be proud of mentally especially these days. So let it just not be known to the world. I'm crazy, what can I say?

But on a lighter note, Like Ms. K I also did fairly well during my entire school days. The fact that I finished college, took home a diploma and landed some decent jobs from the past (and hopefully a new one soon) can justify it enough that my mind box indeed is in a healthy state. Need I say more? Hmm, I have poor memory too that sometimes lead me to some sort of embarrassment. Although, that don't bother me much.

Here in our place the town fiesta is the biggest and most anticipated event next to Christmas each year and in two weeks time we will be celebrating it once again.

As early as now we are already discussing what dishes to prepare for that big day. This time we want something different. Of course the roast pig will still be there for the main course but we want something new for other dishes and desserts. That's going to be my next task in line... to search for at least 2 or 3 new delicious, easy to prepare recipes that we can prepare for the coming fiesta.

But that has to wait a while because right now I still have two things that needs done before I can shift my focus for that recipe search thing. One, I have to look for cheap laptops online as per requested by my sister and two, I got paper works to do that should be done before eight sharp on Wednesday. So far I've already found one site that offers reasonable prices for laptop computers. I think I can recommend it to her.

Anyway, I still have a week or so left for recipe hunting so there's really no need to hurry. Although I must admit... the coming fiesta really excites me more than I can imagine. I know it's going to be a strenuous event but it is so full of fun... what can I say? And I can't wait to get reunited again with families and friends.

I miss GT for the whole month of June and now its first theme for July. Nice! Well I have my reasons. First off, June has been a busy month for me with all the family affairs that I had to attend to.

Secondly, I went a little bit delirious over that terrifying killing incident that took place close to our house last week. Instead of sleeping alone in my room like I used to, I had to invade one of mom's room just to have company at night. With that, the time I spend online has been obviously cut too. I used to sleep as late as 3 am or even 5 but after that incident I prefer to secure myself from all the weird thoughts and just watch TV at moms till I get tired and doze.

I'm trying not to think so much about it especially at night. But last night I slept at moms again for the third time but I'll shall be doing it alternately until I feel easy enough to sleep comfortably back alone in my own room. It may just take time.

After all the fun and merriment, I quietly feel sorry for my aunt when we left her house yesterday morning. On Saturday (19th) is the day. My cousin will finally take her long time girlfriend down the aisle to officially ask the big man upstairs to bless their life together as husband and wife.

I believe it'll just be a solemn celebration to be participated only by families and close friends from both sides. The ceremony will begin at 10 in the morning and a grand lunch will follow right after.

I'm pretty sure the rest of merrymaking will comprise of the usual bottomless drinking and non-stop feasting.

By the way, speaking of getting married, I wonder how my younger brother feels about it. I notice almost all of my male cousins of our age already have families of their own. He's only 31 though and never really seen him into any serious commitment yet. Perhaps, there's still something he wants to prove to his self. Right now, he's so focus on how to become an expert in the kind of job he's in to. What is important is he is enjoying his time and I believe the right time will come for him sooner or later.

Today, June 12 marks the Philippine Independence Day - an official holiday in the Philippine Calendar but since it falls on a non-working day (Saturday) it is moved on the 14th although the official observance of the holiday is today. That is one of the so many things that the outgoing President of the country is so fond of doing - making a calendar of her own, LOL!

So instead of Monday, classes starts for the majority of school institutions in all levels will start on Tuesday, 15th of June and these are the eager students in our family for school year 2010-1011.

We parents always have dreams for our children. There was one time that I almost got tempted to buy my Kate a piano because I noticed she likes to sing and thought seeing her playing her favorite Disney and fairytale songs using a piano would be a dream come true for me. But I guess that piano wasn't really mean for us to have back then.

She had grown and along with that progress comes the dawn of her interest in physical activities. She likes throwing her body up into the air and other times her acrobatic moves just stuns me. I told myself if she were a boy I could have bought him pogo sticks for kids or maybe a set of roller blade but she's not so I just thought of buying her a DVD for basic Acrobatic lessons maybe one of these days. Although I still want her to learn how to play piano. I noticed she still has a heart for music and that I wanted her to improve as long as she wants to.

From Psychology, my sister may have to switch into another major this time as the local Universities around do not offer Psychology in their education courses. She didn't able to complete the course when she found out that she was pregnant and had to stop during the last and final term on her fourth year. She's aiming to go back this time and was hoping she could make it in just a year or so, so she could immediately look for a job after but unfortunately Psychology is not offered in her chosen University. Now she's torn between going back to the same school where she first took the course or to just shift into another major. Whatever her decision maybe our full support is all out to her. My sister and I walked our way to the market yesterday. We seldom do it. We usually take a short ride in going to and back but yesterday we both decided to just walk in which I think was a good idea for us to also warm-up a bit.

Just as we were about to get in to the grocery store, I've heard a female voice calling my name from a black pickup truck that is parked few meters away from the grocery's entrance. I instantly recognized her face. She was not just a classmate but also a good friend from college. With her in the car was her pretty 4 year old daughter and her oh so adorable frontline dogs like Shih Tzu behaving so well in her seat.

I learned that she own a pet shop in Davao. Would you believe she offered me an exceptional price whenever I decide to raise a pet like what she has? Sounds interesting, huh! I don't think I have stored pictures of me and my friends at work before. I did own a cellphone camera back then but not a computer. I acquired my first desktop computer after I resigned from my last job and when I got a computer, that was also the time that I lost my cellphone where all the pictures I took were stored. Waaahh!!! What a misfortune!

Oh well anyway, it's been a long, long time. Now I got them both back, haha! Although the pictures below were a capture of Anne's camera... just no longer in our workplace though but in her house when I went to visit some time last year.

In fact I've only joined one popular social media site before but even there I barely post updates and rarely join in any discussion forum with the fear of being ignored and rejected. I envy those people who can easily generate friends by simply sharing their thoughts.

Later I realized no one will ever care to notice if I won't bother to reach out first. That's what motivated me to explore other local community sites and start building up my confidence by becoming one of them. Now I'm actively involved into several community sites such Facebook, Twitter, Plurk as well as some chat forums too. They are among the first few sites that I browse each morning next to checking my emails.

The length of this post is as long as the number of days that I wasn't able to update this blog. I'd like to apologize for that and I hope you bear with the amount of time you may be spending reading this story from start to finish. You will be glad you did!

God vs. Science

"Let me explain the problem science has with religion." The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand.

'You're a Christian, aren't you, son?'

'Yes sir,' the student says.

'So you believe in God?'

'Absolutely. '

'Is God good?'

'Sure! God's good.'

'Is God all-powerful? Can God do anything?'

'Yes'

'Are you good or evil?'

'The Bible says I'm evil.'

The professor grins knowingly. 'Aha! The Bible!' He considers for a moment. 'Here's one for you. Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure him. You can do it. Would you help him? Would you try?'

'Yes sir, I would.'

'So you're good!'

'I wouldn't say that.'

'But why not say that? You'd help a sick and maimed person if you could. Most of us would if we could. But God doesn't.'

The student does not answer, so the professor continues. 'He doesn't, does he? My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him. How is this Jesus good? Can you answer that one?'

The student remains silent. 'No, you can't, can you?' the professor says. He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax. 'Let's start again, young fella. Is God good?'

'Er.. yes,' the student says.

'Is Satan good?'

The student doesn't hesitate on this one. 'No.'

'Then where does Satan come from?'

The student falters. 'From God'

'That's right. God made Satan, didn't he? Tell me, son. Is there evil in this world?'

'Yes, sir..'

'Evil's everywhere, isn't it? And God did make everything, correct?'

'Yes'

'So who created evil?' The professor continued, 'If God created everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil.'

Again, the student has no answer. 'Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things, do they exist in this world?'

The student squirms on his feet. 'Yes.'

'So who created them?'

The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his question. 'Who created them?' There is still no answer. Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom. The class is mesmerized. 'Tell me,' he continues onto another student. 'Do you believe in Jesus Christ, son?'

The student's voice betrays him and cracks. 'Yes, professor, I do.'

The old man stops pacing. 'Science says you have five senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Have you ever seen Jesus?'

'No sir. I've never seen Him.'

'Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?'

'No, sir, I have not..'

'Have you ever felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or smelt your Jesus? Have you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus Christ, or God for that matter?'

'No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't.'

'Yet you still believe in him?'

'Yes'

'According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your God doesn't exist.
What do you say to that, son?'

'Nothing,' the student replies.. 'I only have my faith.'

'Yes, faith,' the professor repeats. 'And that is the problem science has with God. There is no evidence, only faith.'

The student*** stands quietly for a moment, before asking a question of His own. 'Professor, is there such thing as heat? '

Yes.

'And is there such a thing as cold?'

'Yes, son, there's cold too.'

'No sir, there isn't.'

The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested. The room suddenly becomes very quiet.

The student begins to explain. ' You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we don't have anything called 'cold'. We can go down to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees. Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy. Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat.. You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is energy. Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.'

Silence across the room. A pen drops somewhere in the classroom, sounding like a hammer.

'What about darkness, professor. Is there such a thing as darkness?'

'Yes,' the professor replies without hesitation. 'What is night if it isn't darkness?'

'You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is not something; it is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and its called darkness, isn't it? That's the meaning we use to define the word. In reality, darkness isn't. If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?'

The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him. This will be a good semester. 'So what point are you making, young man?'

My point, professor, is that your philosophical premise is flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed.'

The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time. 'Flawed? Can you explain how?'

'You are working on the premise of duality,' the student explains. 'You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can't even explain a thought.' 'It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it. Now tell me, professor... Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?'

'If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do.'

'Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?'

The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the argument is goin.
A very good semester, indeed.

'Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?'

The class is in uproar. The student remains silent until the commotion has subsided. 'To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, let me give you an example of what I mean.' The student looks around the room. 'Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?' The class breaks out into laughter. 'Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due respect, sir.' 'So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your lectures, sir?'

Now the room is silent. The professor just stares at the student, his face unreadable. Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers. 'I Guess you'll have to take them on faith.'

'Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life,' the student continues. 'Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?' Now uncertain, the professor responds, 'Of course, there is. We see it everyday. It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world. These manifestations are nothing else but evil.'

To this the student replied, 'Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself. Evil is simply the absence of God. It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God. God did not create evil. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart. It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.'

The professor sat down.

Hi, I am just going to make some quick update here since we're expecting yet another long hour of power interruption starting at 8am until 6pm today.

I am not sure yet though, but if the rain stops from falling (as it did rain all night long) I may want to visit a garden store to buy those flower pots I need for my plant-raising project - bonsai and flower planting to be exact.

Hmm, I know this is going to be extremely different from my usual routine but still want to give it a try anyway. We'll see... I'll be posting updates here now and then whatever progress this plan is going to have in the future.

For the mean time, I'll just have to continue surfing. I'll see if I can find a good deal for domain name registration while the power is still up. Until next time!

But since all these oh-so-tempting goodies are not available at all times in the local stores around here, anything potato/corn chips will do, just no weird flavors for me, please!!!

Anyway, I got this bunch of choc/chips from the _th box that JK mailed to me somewhere last year. Love ranch Doritos and plain salted Lay's potato chips the most. Reese's for chocolate. I like it nutty and just moderately sweet. Hmm, is it okay to crave for more of these? Wait! Do I hear myself right? I'm asking for more??

I'm no computer savvy but somehow it feels good whenever I can extend help to people who are having computer issues like the common slow speed and poor performance. Aside from removing temporary files and defragmenting the hard drive on a regular basis, I also recommend the use of special software like Windows 7 Registry Cleaner to keep the registry healthy.

In layman's term, if the CPU is the main brain of a computer, the windows registry serves as its central nervous system where the configuration settings are stored and in less time can be highly susceptible to security vulnerabilities if not guarded safely. Why do you think you suddenly get those annoying error messages and/or experience aimless crashes? I also asked the same questions before... now I have them all answered. I am sure is a big movie freak but where was I when this movie were released in year 2000?

I was looking for a video of the song called "What's Forever for" from YouTube before when I came across for the first time Billy Gilman's version of the song featuring some highlights of the movie Pay It Forward on the background of the video.

The story was kind of catchy so I've been looking from then on where to possibly get a copy of the movie. I even tried watching it on some free online movie watch sites but the extremely low quality just frustrates me.

Yesterday, JK and I tried to search for it again but would you believe how much it costs? $19.99! The shipping fee was not even accounted yet. Oh well, I guess I just have to keep on looking from here. I don't think I am willing to pay that much for just a single copy of a movie.

Better late than never!

And speaking of my comfort food, here they are!

Well food that brings some form or measure of comfort, sense of well being and easy satisfaction - that's according to Wikipedia. So then, I don't have to feel guilty whether it's something healthy or not.

Why noodles? Simply because it is what I always find tempting and so easy to prepare. Invite me to dine at any restaurants I will still look for noodles (fresh miki, canton or bihon as we commonly called them). This brand of course is my top preference for my comfort food and these instant baked mac and cheez are the two new addition to them.

Oh well, you don't want to believe this... but I'm just about to grab a pack. It's almost 1 am here and my eyes are still wide awake. Thinking of Lucky Me's new spicy hot, Jjampong (not on the pic). Oh so lovin' it!

My cousin who's so fond of collecting designer products and different memorabilia dropped by to hand my brother the receipt of the construction materials he purchased from them last week. I invited her in and thought she would refuse like she usually does. She didn't this time.

While chit-chatting she suddenly interrupted as she took noticed two big bottles of my designer brand fragrances along with other skincare products that's on the rack. Without so much words said, she asked if she could take home one. I got dumbfounded! I looked straight to her face trying to figure whether she was just teasing or not. Then she laughed... a loud one. I could almost cry out of embarrassment because honestly, I really didn't know how to react. Although I know she knew they were just given to me.

Anyway, I offered to help her instead to find exactly the same online. I even introduced online shopping to her and explained how she could get nice collectibles from different online stores, should she decide to grow her collections even more.

(Sigh!)

So now, I'm making it official. After a month of contemplating, I have finally decided to stay and continue what I've already started here. The thought of closing this blog out came across my mind after I have imported pretty much all of its contents to another platform along with a new domain. I left confused on what to do after the entire process and next thing I knew was giving my self a break… not for days but weeks.

For some reasons, I really can't find it in my heart to let go of this blog. Someone would be hurting if I did. I would have been too, as well… simply because the effort that I've spent to keep this page going for two years was heart-filled.

I’m not sure how often will I be able to add entries this time around. Everyday would be extremely great but once or twice in a week ain’t that bad either.

My next stop’s gonna be layout hunting. Goodluck to me!

Seated all day listening to a nonsense argument... that's how my day went yesterday. I guess someone should really congratulate me for passing on that lame (I must say) reality test. I've been venting on my other blogs just how troubled I am these days. Obviously I am coz I didn't even bother to notice that Thursday is already here and its GT time once again. So anyway, here's how mine goes.

A first kiss landed probably about half an inch away from my so tender lips right after our graduation rites in high school. Just as we are ready to leave the church came the so determined nearly 30 year old suitor. He knows that I'll be moving to the city for college so he handed me a keepsake and guess what it was.... a gold ring!!! hahaha! Was he for real? Well, yes I realized he was when I tried to return it and he refused to take it back and told me instead that he bought it for me and that will be p-a-t-i-e-n-t-l-y waiting. Flattered!

Patiently, huh! Just few months before my first year in college ended, I've found out that he already got married to someone of his age. Did it surprise me? Hmm, not really! I could have if we happened to have something romantic to be sorry about but we didn't.

As for the first kiss, I didn't give it nor asked for it so yah, I'm safe to have talked about it here, hahaha!

Rain has been constantly pouring these days. The longer it stays the colder it gets. There's so much to do but can't seem to get over with the indolence the cold weather has made me. Wish I could do more other than just tucking myself to bed and get bored.

I'm missing my daughters. At least when they're here days would have been better and not as dull like they were - we can play, sing and laugh together even under the freezing cold weather. But I do miss my Kate's gentle little hand's robbing my back on top of it all... maybe because I've been feeling so sore and stiff from catching more and more zzz's, for days. I badly need to relive my muscles and the only thing I can think of to make it possible is to get a soothing back rub like this...

Wheee! I can't believe this is happening! I am writing my very first entry for Girls Talk right here, right now. But wait! FIRST DATE for this week's theme? Do I really want to do this? Okay, since I've desired to join this meme and for the fun of it... go!

So I really have to confess it now...

My first date happened when I was in my 2nd year in college. Told you I had a "house-school -- school-house" policy to comply during my high school days though I've had secret crushes but the actual dating took place when Mama and Papa were no longer there to supervise me, LOL! But hey, don't get me wrong. It wasn't done out of disobedience. I believe I have my own mind and there's nothing wrong with what I did.

Anyway, going back to the story... that guy was a "penpal" (di pa uso'ng internet nun). He started writing me somewhere during my senior years in high school. He was consistent till I graduated so when I took college in the city where he lives, we both decided to meet. We dined, walked at the park and watched a free concert.

I can't remember how many times exactly we dated out. Funny because like Niko I also have this memory issue after I've had a major operation 2 years ago. But well, one thing's for sure - it was nothing romantic! We just dated as friends. Obviously, I won't be going out with him more than once if he weren't a nice guy so yea, he was!

They are my most special and priceless gift that I've had last Christmas and these were the first few pictures I had with them using the new Kodak camera that JK sent me last month for a Christmas present as well. I used to be a very adverse type of person. I take failure negatively instead of taking it as a challenge to become better and move on. One day there's this dream that I so wanted to come true. I say not everyone's typical dream because it takes a lot of effort and courage to have even accomplished the initial step. And I said to myself if I have to take risk then I should go all the way through or I'll just waste a fortune. So I did and though it turned out against my favor somehow I was glad I tried. I felt terribly sad of course but if I didn't take the chance nothing would happen either.

That was the most daring decision I've ever done in my life so far. And like every other people's experience it taught me a very important lesson as well... and that is to never give up.What about you? How much risk are you willing to take in you life?
